Jones was quickly taken to Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A 34-year-old man, Vincent Marc Viner, was detained at the scene and charged with murder. Viner is currently being held at the Johnson Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has joined the Clinton Police Department in the investigation of this homicide incident. Both suspects were denied bail during a hearing on Saturday.
