Authorities Arrest 80 Individuals in Summerville Raid

Law enforcement officers conducting a raid at a nightclub with flashing lights.

News Summary

In a major operation, law enforcement arrested 80 individuals at the Alamo nightclub in Summerville. The raid, involving 200 agents, recovered firearms and drugs, and rescued a missing juvenile. Investigations began due to ongoing illegal activity concerns linked to the venue, which was operating without a license. High-level cartel members were also detained, and the nightclub has been sealed off by authorities. The operation is part of a broader effort to address community safety and illegal activities.

South Carolina โ€“ In a significant law enforcement operation dubbed โ€œOperation Last Stand,โ€ authorities arrested at least 80 individuals during a raid at the Alamo nightclub in Summerville on June 1, 2025. Approximately 200 federal, state, and local agents participated in the operation, which took place around 3 a.m. on a Sunday morning.

The raid led to the recovery of several firearms, cocaine, an unidentified controlled substance, and a substantial amount of cash. Furthermore, the operation resulted in the rescue of a missing juvenile, previously reported as lost. This coordinated effort was prompted by ongoing concerns regarding illegal activities linked to the venue, which has been described as hosting a โ€œcartel afterparty.โ€ Notably, the Alamo nightclub was operating without an alcohol license.

During the operation, authorities found over 200 individuals present at the nightclub. In addition to executing 80 arrest warrants, officials confirmed that 66 of those arrested were in the United States illegally, and five individuals had outstanding criminal warrants. Among the detained were two individuals identified as high-level members of drug cartels, specifically Los Zetas and Tren de Aragua. Another person taken into custody was sought by INTERPOL regarding a murder charge in Honduras.

Law enforcement also managed to remove ten juveniles, all under the age of 21, from the nightclubโ€™s premises, including a 13-year-old boy who was reported missing weeks prior. Some of those arrested are believed to be victims of human trafficking and are currently receiving assistance from social services.

The investigation leading to this operation began in November 2024, triggered by noise complaints and documented assaults in the surrounding area. The owner of the Alamo nightclub, Benjamin Reyna-Flores, was also arrested during the operation and faces multiple charges related to alcohol violations. As part of the investigation into drug-related activities, four vehicles have been seized and are awaiting search warrants for further inquiry.

Authorities are currently conducting tests on the unknown controlled substance that was recovered during the raid, while investigations into drug trafficking and money laundering are ongoing. Charleston County Code Enforcement has placed a seal on the Alamo nightclub, preventing any future operations as a nightclub.

South Carolinaโ€™s Governor Henry McMaster and Attorney General Alan Wilson commented on the broader implications of the raid, emphasizing that the operation was not just focused on immigration enforcement but was also aimed at restoring order and ensuring community safety. This operation results from years of prior complaints and illegal activities associated with the Alamo nightclub, signaling a unified response to crime and public safety concerns in the community.
