Ferm, a recent graduate of Porter-Gaud High School, received a scholarship worth $12,500 as part of her title winnings. She plans to pursue a degree in psychology at Furman University this Fall. Her advocacy work focuses on food allergy awareness through her initiative titled “From Fear to Freedom,” where she shares her own experiences managing anaphylactic food allergies on her Instagram account.

During the talent portion of the competition, Ferm impressed the judges and audience alike with her rendition of “Tomorrow” from the beloved musical “Annie.” Her performance played a significant role in her overall score, contributing to her success in securing the title.

Ferm will now represent South Carolina in the upcoming Miss America Teen competition. The event highlights the talents and social initiatives of young women across the nation, focusing on both personal growth and community impact.

The first runner-up in the competition was Lilykate Barbare, who represented Greer High School. Following her, Logan Gabrielle Wells from Columbia earned the second runner-up position, while Madison Harbin from Greenville County secured third runner-up. The fourth runner-up was Cleo Floyd-Johnstone from Greenwood. Each of these young women also showcased remarkable talents and dedication throughout the competition.

Tess Ferm takes over the crown from Mary Elle Marchant of Lexington, the previous titleholder, who held the position with distinction. The nature of the Miss South Carolina Teen pageant emphasizes not only beauty and talent but also the dedication to various causes and community service, making it a platform for young women to promote their initiatives and interests.

Following the Teen competition, the Miss South Carolina competition was scheduled for the following evening at 8:30 p.m. at the Township Auditorium, featuring contestants vying for the Miss South Carolina title.
