Formerly a long-time resident of Wyoming, she lived a life filled with family, career, and community service. Her contributions to both her family and profession were profound, marking her as a respected and beloved figure in the lives of those who knew her.

Born on November 2, 1931, in Moosic, Pennsylvania, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Zygmunt) Visniski. She graduated from North Pocono High School before pursuing further education at Misericordia University. Initially, Dorothy began her career in nursing, helping many as a caregiver. Later in her professional journey, she transitioned to accounting, working for Carter Rubber Company in Wilkes-Barre before joining her husband, Henry Joseph Novak, in their home construction business as both an accountant and painter.

Dorothy’s dedication to her family and career was matched by her love for retirement. After a successful professional life, she found joy in spending her retirement years in Florida, where she explored the great outdoors on numerous camping trips with her husband. In her later years, Dorothy embraced hobbies such as puzzle-solving, which brought her ample joy, alongside cherished moments spent with her family.

Alongside her many professional achievements, Dorothy was also actively involved in her community as a past member of Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church in Dupont. Her faith and community ties were an integral part of her life.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Henry, who passed away in 2023, as well as her sisters: Josephine Bryk, Joanne Kuchinski, Louise Lukasik, and Regina Dvorscak. She also lost her brothers Alexander, Edward J., and Robert Visniski during her lifetime.

She is survived by her son, Robert Novak, and his wife Inger, residing in Greenwood, South Carolina. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Andrew Novak, Heather Novak Pierfelice, and Matthew Novak, who carry forward the values she nurtured in them. Additionally, Dorothy is survived by her brother, Joseph Visniski, and his wife Fran, of Erie, Pennsylvania, along with many nieces and nephews who fondly remember her kindness and love.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 8th, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church, Dupont. Fr. Thomas Petro will officiate the Mass, followed by interment at the parish cemetery where Dorothy will be laid to rest alongside her husband.
