A parent or legal guardian has to come along and sign the registration paperwork at the airport before a child can board.
Young Eagles dates back to 1992 and puts kids in the seat of a general aviation airplane, with pilots who belong to EAA donating their time and aircraft. Nationally, the program has taken more than 2 million young people up for a flight, with the goal of sparking an interest in aviation careers and hobbies.
