GREENWOOD, S.C. — Body slams and championship belts are on the card Saturday night, Oct. 24, when Carolina Main Event Wrestling brings Grand Battle: All Out War to the Greenwood County Fairgrounds.

It is the second year for the show. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds on U.S. 221, and the action starts at 7 p.m. and is scheduled to wrap up around 9.

General admission is $10. Children who show up in Halloween costumes get in free, and Lander University students pay half price. Parking is free, the show is open to all ages, and tickets are not refundable.

Fans can expect women’s champion Alicia Love, who often takes on male opponents, and Top Shotta Rush among the performers on the bill.

The promotion, known as C.M.W., made Greenwood its home base this spring. Owner Octavius Conway, who performs as One Man Army, got hooked on the sport doing backyard wrestling as a kid in Clinton about 15 years ago.

Conway hopes to open a training school next year for people who want to become wrestlers, referees, managers or valets, or to learn how the business works. He is also trying to line up a Toys for Tots show in December and wants to run at least two shows a month by spring.
