Greenwood, S.C. — Greenwood Christian Academy dropped a 44-27 region game at Pee Dee Academy on Friday night at Hal D. Townsend Stadium, according to local game coverage and statewide Week 8 scoreboards.
Isaiah Scott-Palacios rushed for three touchdowns and Ryan McCalla hauled in a receiving score, but Pee Dee’s offense was too much for the Hawks.
Greenwood Christian fell to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in region play. The same Pee Dee Academy 44, Greenwood Christian 27 final appeared on independent Friday night score roundups.
Coach Will Rooney said Pee Dee out-physicaled his team in every aspect of the game and that execution and coaching were not good enough on the night.
The Hawks will host region-leading Williamsburg Academy next week as they try to bounce back in SCISA region play.
Elsewhere around Greenwood on the public-school board, Fountain Inn beat Greenwood High 21-14 and Wren topped Emerald 37-30 in other Week 8 results affecting local fans.
