GREENVILLE, S.C. — Organizers of Bank of America Fall for Greenville delayed Saturday’s festival start to 4 p.m. as Hurricane Isaias sent wind and rain into the Upstate, city and festival officials said Friday.

Festival directors and city staff, working with the Greenville City Fire Department, planned to meet Saturday morning to keep watching the forecast and decide whether more delays were needed for attendees, vendors, performers and staff.

The National Weather Service outlook for the Upstate called for several inches of rain and winds around 35 mph, with higher totals and gusts possible in the mountains. Wind and lake wind advisories were already in effect for Greenville and Anderson counties Friday afternoon.

City spokesperson Beth Brotherton said Fall for Greenville is a rain or shine event, but not a severe weather event. Officials said they stay in regular contact with the National Weather Service and will postpone or cancel portions of the festival if conditions deteriorate.

The three-day downtown festival opened Friday with more than 300 menu items from 60 restaurants, 92 bands across seven stages, and more than 50 beer taps and wine vendors. It was previously delayed two weeks in 2024 because of Hurricane Helene.

Forecasters said wind and rain should ease early Sunday, with temperatures near 70 degrees for the final festival day. City parking garages, except North Laurens, Church and Riverplace, were offering $10 event parking, and free parking at Greenville High Academy included a free Greenlink trolley to the festival.
